We ran into a small teething issues like any other build yesterday.

The motor is now in and the new fuel system is all plumbed up with the Reg mounted on the back of the Intake Manifold. My mechanic ended up cutting off the return line and modifying it so they point almost directly at eachother now - eliminating the issue common tomei issue with the leaking oil return.

We found a small fuel leak on one of the fittings going into the fuel rail so that'll be fixed today. Other than that, all that's left is to fit the new brakes, do a bleed, set the ride height of the new suspension and adjust the PowerFC basemap to suit the 3SGTE Injectors which I believe are 540cc.

Fingers crossed, the end is near!

hhaha, cheers.

I brought the car home today after my mate working on it till 2:30am this morning.. It's currently running on the basemap however runs on the 3SGTE injectors better with no injector correction on ~30psi fuel rail pressure. Not sure why but i'll leave that for the tuner to set up when I see him tomorrow.

On the PowerFC its on 100% Injector adjustment, I believe with the 3SGTE injectors it should be 68.5% ?? (540cc / 370cc x 100 = 68.5)

On the way home I smelt something a little funny and realised I had a flat tyre up front. Reason? New tierod ends weren't set correctly and it was putting extreme toe on the left hand side. The friction overheated the tyre and blew it out. Not a good start but that's car tuning life right?

I spent the second half of the day tidying up hoses and wires in the engine bay, I found these really cool ties which you bolt to the chassis or engine and you bend them around wires/hoses to keep them in place, this way nothing fouls on anything and keeps it all manageable.

Some pictures taken today.

Hi Phil,

May I ask why you chose BC Golds over the HKS?? Serviceability? would you prefer BC Golds over Cusco Street Zero-A?

My HKS suspension didn't have damper adjust and were too soft for track work.
There's nothing else locally available unless you're ready to fork out $3k for decent suspension.

I haven't got experience with the Zero-A's so I couldn't tell you to be honest.

Update: 27/05/13
Cars been to Soichi for the run in tune. He found I set the fuel pressure too low (my bad!) and adjusted the Power-FC to suit.

Car is alot louder now and the tone is much deeper. I'm going to need another muffler!

700km to go until tune!
