you can slap a vvti 1jzgte in that car of yours with zero issues, all you will need is two 1jz engine mounts
all the wiring looms will clip into place, providing its a front sumped 1jzgte with an x100 loom

jzx100's were released half way thru 96, my first 100 was a 96 too.
