I dunno, I did the drive in mid-2008 lol

Yeah, the roads leading to Piha (which must be Scenic Drive?) they were quite windy anyway, proper Touge style :p... the ones we did on 'The Cannonball Run' were also pretty decent, but they are 'well' out of everyone's way heh.

Well Scenic Drive can lead to and away from Piha, depends what way you are going. There can often be a lot of traffic on Scenic dve and there are pretty much no places for passing. The road going to Piha is fun but then you just turn around and go back again. Also not a lot of room for passing. Good for motorbikes though ;)

Oh right - we did it at like 9-10 pm at night, so there was no one around to really worry about traffic :D

Piha roads are dangerous with traffic, heaps of car accidents there O_O. kawakawa would be an hour and a half drive? but i dont mind:P just need to watch that speed camera near waiwera haha and also state highway 1 #153... a straight line but very dodgey . good thing there was a doctor nearby just in case:P i was in one of the crashes but was a passenger - 4 cars involved and 2 head on collision travelling 80kmh.. lucky no one died, was comming home from cape reianga:) ran to the lady's car who was pinned inside the car witha 4 year old baby :-S... but they're fine.. Doctor is dodgey tho..she took all the stuff that was inside the car and kept all the goodies in the fridge :P haha

lol anyway what do you guyz think?

kawakawa seems like a good cruise. bout 40mins drive?..

Piha is good too, roads are nice slim and downhill on the way to the beach...no BBQ tho unless you guyz wanna surf lol ...and then a good uphill on the way back.

Uretiti - an hour drive, once we get there we can ahve a barbecue etcc.. should be a good cruise..haha

we can have a good cruise to helensville too but there is nothing there really.. lol just really nice people haha

Be good to bring some mates too

I'm down like Charlie Brown for anything, I do have to find somewhere to lift my car to do the engine oil and filter change first though :P

Twilight road to Clevedon then to Kawakawa bay, continue past Orere point along East Coast road to Miranda, jump back on state highway 2 for an easy cruise home or turn around and take the same road back. Either way it's about a 2 hour round trip. Plenty of places to stop for ice creams and drinks. I tried to make a map in google maps but I failed.
i'll see if i can draw it on google. seems like its a really good route.. or we can cruise the long way past mission bay for people to see :P
