Bracings REPLICATION

hi there guyz,

My brother and i are planning to replicate some of the braces, but in order to do this, we will need to borrow a sample for a couple of days

Curbing front strut brace from towers to firewall, front member rods, front underbody triangle brace, rear bracing near gas tank etc...

our plan is to draw them up on solidworks and create really fly engineering drawings out of them so that we can get the fabricators to fabricate 5 sets or something for a really really cheap price..

we can use Chromoly 4130 Steel so its lighter and tougher than normal ones (used for roll bars). just need to get a hold of a set for a day or two..

Why??? When you can walk into North Shore Toyota and order them off the shelf.
Chromoly is not cheap.. You'd have to get flanges laser cut, not cheap... Then get them tig welded... Then powdercoat them to stop rust...

Alot of effort and I'd doubt you would save a little or anything at all?

because unlike you altezza owners, We cant just buy them off the shelf...
the only ones ive seen are the front strut braces and front underbody..

good idea

and yea alex is correct, we have to fight millon of other pple either on yahoo jp for when second hand TOM'S or cusco bracing comes up
its not cheap

and rea;;y not cheap when import companys bring them into nz and then they sell them on trade me

trust me i have been after a tom's or cusco in boot brace and diff brace since i have had my car, not cheap and you have to be the mantis to jump on one in jay pan

I'm going to need a front lower triangle brace one day. The genius who owned my car before me though it would be a good idea to slice a piece out of it to make room for the screamer pipe off the wastegate

If we all had that attitude no one would ever get any bespoke parts made.

Haha my brother is an engineer, im sure he knows what he's doing :) so if anyone has a part/parts who's willing to lend it to us for a couple of days, it would be great so we can get it going soon.. otherwise you guyz will have to wait till university starts so i can start making those bracings -

Chromoly is normal, flanges and tig welding are not a problem... Then powdercoat hmmm shouldn't be a problem either as we know a few facilities/guyz who does that..

I bought the braces/coilovers from Kitajima outside of trademe. Will be providing full measurements on the braces, or PowderJZX, flick me a PM if you want. You can borrow them for a few days or whatever if you need to :)

thanks psibrg.. i'll send you a PM now.. i would probably need t borrow them for a few days if you dont mind.. we'll be using an engineering software to check what the tension is too.. and reinforce the replicated ones if they dont have enough tension, anyway, tensions can be adjusted to whatever suits the driver.. i will only need the braces, we also have engine and under front and rear braces that will be coming from philip so it seems like everything is almost complete..

will let you guyz know how it goes.. if anyone has a different bracing will you guyz be able to lend it too if you guyz dont mind.. to compare the enigneering of each..different brands = different engineering.. :)

i'll pm you now :) and THANKS!!
