Hey guys,
i'll admit to being new to toyotas but by no means new to mechanics. I've got a jzx100 as my daily and want to upgrade the brakes. (stops poorly as its quite heavy) Will the 2 pot brakes off the turbo tourer v bolt straight on? what other options are there? I've read that you can use nissan 4pots? and also read you can use supra 4 pots with new offset nuts? what about the rear?
When it comes to suspension, what options do I have? Does stuff from supras and altezzas fit?
What about the diff? cant seem to find any lsds for a good price.
its a grande chaser 1996 auto if that helps.
thanks for any and all advice!!

Re: jzx100 brakes and suspension
brake's go like this
tourer v bolt on
jza80 four pots bolt on with offset nuts ( both front four pots and rear two pots )
ufc20 four pots i am not 100% sure on
nissan four pots.....come on man what the hell
if you are on a budget and its your daily driver, go to toyota and get oem brake pads, change fulid to a motul 400 or 600 dot 4 and it will stop alot better than what you already have
suspension
nothing you have stated will work as a whole bolt on
again if your on a budget hunt out some TRD/HKS springs with your oem shocks, massive bang for buck there, trust me on that one
diff
a altezza Gxe10 lsd will slip into your diff head ( have to double check that has they do on the tourer S diffs ) keeping in mind sxe10 diffs are different

Re: jzx100 brakes and suspension
Thanks guys great input right there! Anyone else?
Re: jzx100 brakes and suspension
So I went ahead and got some jzx100 tourer V front brakes.
Where a little rusty when I got them so I gave them a good scrub up.

Clean vs unclean

Once all cleaned up I gave em a lick of heat proof caliper paint

Installation was simple, a direct replacement, just had to slightly bent back the dust pans.
Heres a picture of the old brakes next to the new ones. 295mm disc next to the old 275mm

And heres them installed.

Re: jzx100 brakes and suspension
How were the results? Do you need to change anything else other than caliper/disk?
Re: jzx100 brakes and suspension
Slightly better braking, overall I'm pretty happy with them. I towed by S15 down to hamptons and back without the trailer brakes on (opps) and I didn't even realize so thats good enough for me!
Alot does depend on your brake pads though so invest in some good ones!

Should've jumped on Supra 4 pots.
