1jz flywheel options, where to get one

whats my best bet?

1. go buy a cnc one off trademe $459.00

2. sec hand one been offered one for $200

3. or get a new one though Toyota $350



i would kinda like to get a lite weight one, whats the stock flywheel weight?

and whats the quality like of the cnc ones

if you're getting a flywheel, might as well get an aftermarket one. same goes with most parts. it's a good excuse to buy a better item.

Also, the difference in weight is huge as far as I know. In other cars, I've read something like the decrease is less than half the original weight. This being said, chromoly (usual Chromoly 4130) is twice as strong as normal steel. therefore, for half the volume and weight, you get the same strength of anything made of steel. they are used in roll cages and frames too.

you can get a good deal from North Shore Toyota. just hit them up and quote JZX NZ

Hit up Jeff at Precision engineering ltd. Albany. he makes the flywheels for everybody else on trademe.
Prolly cost you $250-300
