Is there much of a difference between the vvti and non vvti 2JZ? Is the 2JZ a straight swap with the 1JZ? Should I even bother putting a non vvti 2JZ in place of my vvti 1JZ? Cheers in advance for all the info

Vvti 2jz are a lot harder to tune and deal with. And the non vvti is cheaper to get. Non vvti is the way to go in my mind. 2jz will go any where a 1jz will go with a few mods like bell housing and sump. I'd say the ecu is were it would get tricky with the jzx110

if it can be done in a jzx100 it can be done in a jzx110

fyi a 2jz is 25 to 30mm higher than a 1jz

Huh didint no that. That's why I've been seeing 1jz vvti turn up in jza80. cheaper to get and lower center of gravity

in theory the jzs161 2jz vvti from an aristo should be much easier to wire up then the non vvti 2jz since the cars are from the same era....The only physical issues you may have are the twin turbo setup fouling on something like there is when you swap a 2jz into a jzx100.
