Cleaning Sump

Hi guys, i was wondering - the oil on the sump is too thick and i dont think degreaser would work on it as well. what would be the best solvent to remove the oil off the sump?

You could even try water blasting if you have access to one

spray a can or two of brakeclean in it and let it sit for a while and try wipe it with a cloth after.

white spirits works a treat
or coke and a brush

I would use diesel. Soak it first overnight and then in the morning, gunk will start to fall off depending on the thickness.
The contact between the sludge and the metal is crucial. After taking the thick sludge off, you may want to use a plastic mesh. If it's still too thick, an industrial degreaser will surely soften it.
