Hey guys, not long ago we bought a soarer which had a w57 or w58 manual conversion done before we purchased. after 2 of these boxes destroyed weve purchased a brand new r154.

Just wondering if anyone knows if we can run our same clutch setup or have to change to the supra pull type (correct me if im wrong)

Would i also need to get hold of a supra r154 drive shaft yoke?

the box hasnt arrived at work yet otherwise we would have confirmed a few of these things first, was hoping someone out there has done this and can tell me exactly what else i may run into.

alot of varied info in other forums its hard to sort the important stuff your trying to find with all the other b.s lol

cheers

i don't really know about the clutch for sure but they run the same spline count on the input shaft, but different lengths so it may work.

the driveshaft yoke is different though, w series has 21 splines and r series has 23. There is someone selling the yoke on tm

awesome thanks alot for your reply, will organise a yoke. hopefully no major difference in length and we can just swap the w5 yoke for the r154.

As for the rest i guess wel wait til the box shows up and go from there.

Cheers!

You will need a pull type clutch for R154.

Box arrived today. looks like we can use the original clutch plate we were running in the w5 box but just change to the pull type pressure plate, release bearing/holder, slave cylinder and clutch fork. and of course changing our end yoke to r154.

jz14 the conversion kit you speak of is there any links to these so i can see exactly whats needed?

thanks so far guys
