x90 advanced specs

Post by Matt K »

hey.

not a thread about which x90 has 1jz and all that carry on.

been doing some proper searching for some real info, but have a few questions i cant find answers for...

the main things i wanna know about the x90 is:

how is the jzx90 tourer v chassis is actually strengthened/reinforced compared to x90's?

I'm guessing its more than just extra spot welds. maybe reinforcing plates near strut towers? (like an rs Mitsubishi Evo 3)

and..

how do i identify what type, size and ratio of diff i have? I'm looking or the diff code e.g - a01b/a01a/b03b etc... is there a sticker somewhere?

With the diff code i can refer to a chart i found; full of diff numbers with corresponding diff sizes, ratios whether its LSD or not and flange sizes.

Apparently Altezza suspension components are interchangeable?

help.

thanks.

1. Tourer V chassis have lower chassis braces and a rear swaybar.

2. diff code can be found on the manufacturer's plate inside the engine bay.

3. Altezza components are interchangeable on the x110, not x90 (except the front struts)

Be careful wen comparing to online diff code explanations as most do not correlate to late model a and b series diffs
From memory gx and 1j non turbo Jzx run a 7.5" crownwheel similar to Altezza
1jzgte runs the larger 8" crownwheel
No idea what a lx runs never been brave enough to look at one

Yeah I heard that you can run a altezza torsen in a 1jzge x90. Which is what I was planning on doing..

If you're planning to turbo yours in the future, invest on an 8 inch diff but they're harder to find and probably twice as expensive.. ;)

In the future yeah, manual conversion will come first, though.

On the build plate its b01a...

Aww.. So its an:

8" big diff

3.73:1

Non LSD?

In theory, a Lexus is300 b01b LSD should fit?

i cant confirm if b01 even means if it is lsd...
