EDIT: Cold Start Diagnose

Post by andrew »

So i feel a bit silly asking.. I am trying to diagnose why my cold start doesnt work and there is a pipe disconnected. Its this pipe here..

http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq33 ... oto5-3.jpg

Whick links along the back on the head..

You can see it connected here

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t229 ... G_2275.jpg (my motor doesnt have the disconnected pipe above it)

From playing around with it I am fairly confident its mean to channel air? BUT then I found this IMG of a 1jz swapped s14 (such as I have)
and he is running coolant to it? So it is meant to be air or coolant?

http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq33 ... hoto27.jpg

he states very clearly that he is running coolant through it.

From where im pretty its meant to connect (exhaust side) I can feel warm air coming from the port, more so with revs. On the intake side, which the port exposed I cannot feel air being sucked or pushed out. thinking faulty wiring or valve there?

Does anyone have the pin out for that plug and can anyone confirm if it is air or water to flow though?

Cheers

If anyone could label these hose tails that would be a huge help?

definately coolant lines. Not certain exactly on the 1jzgte motor but pretty certain its the same as the 2jz. In your second post looks like the TPS with the water inlet and outlet to the throttle body could be wrong.

As for the other post's that wilbo guy really knows his stuff and has put alot on the supraforums.com.au threads. If you can't get all the help here have a look on there. Heaps of guys over here buy engines that are missing bits and are always asking whats what where

Big Hose runs air to ISCV. Big Hose on your ISCV. Two smaller hoses run down to to the hardline thats coming from behinf the motor and feeding the oil cooler. You should be able to see the openings.

Again there seems to be conflicting answers :P I am faily confident it is an Air line so ill join it up tonight and see how I go. Thank you for the help with the two smaller lines also.

Can anyone make heads or tails of the wiring? Pin 2 and 5 are power. To be powered by the main ignition relay which is switched by the MREL wire. What about the other 4? Where do these earths connect to? Assuming back to the ECU

Okay so had a bit of a play around but unable to diagnose the issue.

my MREL is wired as such

but I still do not get any power to the ISCV plug. Any ideas? There is no power at ign or residual once the key is off.
pin 2 and 5 (power pins) have continuity to ground at 0 ohm, once the key is set to ign it has resistance of 1 ohm.

Any ideas?

scratch that.

Also I think the switching and constant might be incorrect on my car. There is switch power to the B pins and constant to BAT. is this correct? The diagram seems to suggest the supple side of the switch has constant to the B wires
