1jzgte vvti - Whats this part?

Post by shweatypox »

Whats the circled part and what does it do? I notice it's missing on most aftermarket turbo installs but I saw a jzx100 at D1NZ that had it removed and it still looked like it had the factory turbo.

it's not a major to have and can be removed. you'll need to fabricate two nipples on the new intake pipe from the turbo if you want to retain the factory breather setup.

if you do remove it you may experience issues with idle, especially when you come to a stop however it can be tuned out with a little more fuel around idle if you have an aftermarket computer/interceptor.

i'll be removing mine when I fit my m8280 :)

Cheers for the info, I was interested in what it was and why some people remove it, mines staying in a little longer :)
