Bens jzx100

Post by Ben1j »

Hi guys names Ben from Auckland.
I own a jzx100 just standard auto 1jz on adjusties and rims
My mods I plan to do will be stick a 1jz gte in it and hopefully a manual conversion but I don't know a heap about chasers so might have to wait for that one cause seems like a mind fuck
I joined the forum to gain knowledge about these cars and meet other people that think chasers are sicko

Will put up pics when I figure out how

Your best bet is to import a factory manual front cut, that way you will have everything needed for the conversion.

For the photos, upload them to http://iforce.co.nz and insert the direct link to the image between img tags [img]*image_url*[/img]

You will need to remove the first [img]tag%20and%20the%20[/url][/img] near the end for the embed function of the forum to work

Nice, OEM aero and a clean base to build a decent streeter. How well do these go with a non turbo engine? Being a heavy car id imagine it would take a bit longer to build speed vs the gte JZX100.

Thanks mate. it does take a little bit to get it moving which you do notice but once it's going it's quite quick. The vvti helps a bunch but definatly need a turbo set up which I will be looking into very soon. Is the manual conversion as hard as they say it is?

I converted my tourer V in my spare time and it took a week or so. Some have done it in a weekend though. Hardest part is getting at the gearbox bolts!!

Is it easier to just throw the engine and gearbox in at once?

Yeah it probably would be. To get at some of the gearbox bolts you need to tip the front of the motor up and use a combo of universal joints and extension bars. If you do end up doing the gearbox separately, id advise to use a hoist rather than axle stands as you want to be able to fit underneath the car comfortably with the gearbox on a jack to lift it into place.

Here is a video of Rasty in Japan converting a JZX100 in record time!

Damn that's crazy. Are there any shops in auckland that know a bit about jzx's? Because I'm not a mechanic I reckon the whole conversion might be a bit much
