From Napier
I'm a Lineman
Taken me a while to introduce to the forum. Feb 2012 I sold a VH commodore and after watching heaps of drift videos I was intent on owning something 1jzgte (or setup for)...that wasn't a soarer. Had seen enough NZ drift videos to be familiar with Garage Slipway's antics so contacted the seller of the 'Garage Slipway Courtesy Vehicle' X81 mark2 on trademe. Love of JZX begins.

Specs/mods of JZX atm:

1991 jzx81 mark2 kouki
JZX90 1jzgte
twin ct20a turbos
r154 remote shift
r32 gtr calipers, ba falcon rotors
BC Reds
intercooler
twin 2inch stainless exhaust
walbro 255
locked g series diff
17x9 front, 17x10 rear cybers
FRP Missile bonnet
FRP Missile Guards
BNR32 lip

Plan to get injectors and FPR, Link ECU, raise the diff, new fuel cell, tidy up the body, paint or wrap it and then try certify, wof/reg it.
Cant wait to do some DMNZ days in it and hopefully make powercruise again this year!

Currently has smashed windscreen, anyone know best place to find new one?

Other vehicles are a 91 single cab hilux with manual 1uz, a sheep shagger hilux work ute and a liteace which loves rain

Next car I want to buy: hmmmm

Why I joined JZX NZ: Interesting forum

Sounds awesome Pete!
Always good to have a Toyota family

The twin CT20's sounds interesting, how did they go about that? Much to modify?

Thanks, tbh man it was a bit of a mission - would definitely recommend taking the engine out of the car if anyone wants to do it! (we didn't). I used the 1jz exhaust manifolds, port matched them together with the ct20 exhaust housings. Had a spacer cut so that the factory 2j collector would bolt up (as the 1j manifolds sit further apart than the 2j ones). Running 1bar on ct20 internal gates. Delete all sequential-turbo gadgets and run them parallel. All 2jz hard charge pipes and few other tricks and its mint. My opinion it feels as responsive as the ct12a's did but with more top end pull. Also the hard charge pipes off rear turbo end up hitting fluid outlet on clutch master so have to get one with outlet on top.

Cheers, Pete

Nice to see another 81 pop up here, I'm liking the build so far! Where does a RemoteShift R154 sit shifter wise? must be fairly far back, those are long boxes ! haha
