Hey guys, i thought id say hi.. Well i got a taste for the 1j after giving nicks ( teeboon ) LX90 a thrash, loved the power.. and riding shotgun with Brendon ( niteb )at taupo with him being normally a very cool and calm driver just slapping that steering wheel and wrestling that whale as it looked completely outa control while being in total control ( honest ) was so much fun, so with my 86' in the garage collecting dust as im trying to find the time to work on it i went out and brought this..

Name: Jason
Where your from: Auckland ( Hibiscus Coast )
What you do: Mechanic
Car you own: 01 Mark II IR-V JZX110 , 85' AE86
Mods and future plans: Apexi 3" Exhaust, Apexi Intake kit, Front mount Intercooler kit, Tein Coilovers with EDFC.. Im wanting to manual it asap, im so over the auto already, LSD, lip kit if i can find one and skid the bitch.
Next car you want to buy: not sure
Why you joined JZX NZ: So i can meet like minded people and general hoo haa

Heres a couple of pics so far anyway... i dont have any pics of it when i brought it ( a week ago ) as i basically started modifying it on the way home from buying it.

It already had a few mods done to it, which was kinda good

Apexi 3" exhaust, Apexi Intake, Tein Cruising master coilovers with EDFC...

Then it was my turn to play with it :P

First mod was front mount intercooler kit, which aint too bad and fits behind the factory bumper pretty well all painted black as always.

Then i had to get rid of the 19" DTM Shines it came on as they just aint my style.. and brought some Varrstoen ES3 19x10.5 and 19x9.5 but found out when i got home and tried fitment i was like.. hmm, not sure if i can make those fit 22p all aound is just a little too tough without going hella mexican on tyre size. So ended up with 19x9.5 at 33p all around DTM ZEUS wheels, with 245/35/19's all around.

Im in the middle of painting the headlights, and trying to get the outer lense a little better, but its pretty buggered aye... so i will end up getting new headlights eventually. Also removed the Orange indicator lense and just going to run orange bulbs instead.

tinted the rear tail lights just a little and redded out the indicator and reverse lights, looks so much better. Blacked out the grill ( so wanting a fortuna style grill ) also debadging the rear, blacking out the toyota symbol too

Blacked out all the chrome around the windows, and just getting some paint mixed up for the door handles so it all just blends in and doesnt stick out like a pair of nuts on the side of the car.

And just seeing what they'll kinda look like once fitted back to the car...

Hey mate, Welcome to JZX nz !!!! Very nice 110. That dark Grey colour looks awesome.

Best to start a thread of by telling us your name. Where you live what you do and why you bought the 110 etc etc.

That intercooler looks nice. Very stealth :)
You might need to get a FCD if you experience any boost cut.
Mine has starter basic mods - trust intercooler blitz exhaust and I had to get a FCD installed.

What manual conversion was that? Dont buy the JZX110 gearbox that is for sale at japspares, its out of a modified car and the gearbox is in very bad condition.

was a 100 conversion, push conversion, ogura clutch and flywheel etc.. wouldve been mint as the pull type factory clutches are twice the price of an equivalent push item.

A manual conversion should be great. Jap spares was selling a kit but their r154 has been raced and thrashed (tristian told me, he also has a manual 110 same colour as yours) I'm also saving my pennies for a manual conversion and LSD. I have to budget around $6000 to $7000k (installed) that would still be worth it and keep my total spend under $20,000ish.

if you need a copy of a front factory lip, there is a bodykit shop in west auckland has one, the lady's name is ciska
this is her website

http://www.icedperformance.co.nz/index.html

i think i paid $220 for my front lip.

After you carry out your manual conversion i might get you to do mine, best to get it done from someone that knows how to do it and has done it before. NST sell a conversion kit for around $5000 (pedals, clutch, shifter surround interior and a brand new gearbox)

That's handy. I don't think I've met brendon. I know the d1nz Brendon white but the other Brendon who runs convert-ltd is probably the man of interest to us. Ask him how much he'll charge me?
