Got Ewan at Stacked to sort it out for me - don't expect it to fix the idle though - the system is designed so the ECU has "full" control at idle, so unlikely to change anything there - I believe Soichi has tried on a car that was not idling well, and it didn't work.Naaste wrote:hey man, whered you get the throttle conversion kit from? mate needs one for his jzs161 aswell as idles crap with the aem ecu in it .
thanks

I have the same unit on my 110 and didn't change anything with the idle just gives a hell of a lot more throttle response
Re: My 2003 JZS161 Single Turbo Aristo
Oh really? damn that wont work then, the AEM ecu is a plug and play piggyback to be able to tune the fuel setup but the idle is all up and down and theres still the speed cut unfortunatly

Tell your mate to get a FCD (fuel cut defender) to fix his speed cut. I put one in my JZX110 and it works fine.Naaste wrote:Oh really? damn that wont work then, the AEM ecu is a plug and play piggyback to be able to tune the fuel setup but the idle is all up and down and theres still the speed cut unfortunatly

You mean SLD right? FCD is for boost cut, SLD is for speed limiter defeat.
Re: My 2003 JZS161 Single Turbo Aristo
Oh, I thought he meant boost cut instead of speed cut. There were a few SLD's on trademe 2-3 weeks ago, don't know if they would suit an Aristo thoughEVLC36 wrote:You mean SLD right? FCD is for boost cut, SLD is for speed limiter defeat.

Re: My 2003 JZS161 Single Turbo Aristo
Got car back today, man what a difference!
Shifts are lightning quick now - definitely on the firm side, but not uncomfortable, did a full bore 2nd to 3rd redline shift, used to slip terribly, now it is a rock solid instant shift, stoked!! Part throttle upshifts in manual mode now work really well too.
Machining magic was performed and additional clutches with thinner steels were added in addition to the uprated friction material, torque converter was rebuilt, and valve body work was done to increase line pressure and eliminate shift slip - great work Kaspa Transmissions, especially since the Aristo has a really late model 7 solenoid transmission that nobody in the normal Supra/2JZ/A340E scene seemed to know anything about (as early ones are 3 solenoid with manual line pressure control via kickdown cable, and later ones are 4 solenoid with electronic line pressure control)
