My New Daily GX90

Post by MZROLA »

So I recently brought this GX90 Chaser Advante to replace my current daily driver and hopefully tow my 1961 Caravelle...

Felt like a freight liner to drive for the first couple of day until I realised there was 8 PSI in the front tyres and 15 PSI in the rear...

First modification - Remove hubcaps

Had a few issues deciding on how to lower this car... there isn't really many options when it comes to lowering packages for these cars.... It was a hard decision between adjustable suspension and just a lowering spring. So i finally decided to just go with a Tein spring, as I don't want to sacrifice the ride. This car drives SOO nicely I almost feel bad lowering it.

Thanks Autolign

And one of my Caravelle for good measure :P
Anyone use their car as a tow car?

I used to use my first JZX100 to tow my drift car all over the country.

Had to wind the rear coil overs up for towing a bit, was low before having a trailer and car on the back

Mine is only a 1G though.. Will be interesting to see how it tows...

Got it lowered today, and put my sounds in it :)
Still looking pretty high, here's hoping it settles in a little more.

Now I only have three things left to do :)
1. Wheels
2. Towbar (anyone have one they want to sell?)
3. Paint (shave the ugly markers off the guards + do something about the grill)

Teins don't really lower x90s too much. Not to mention you have the lighter 1g engine... Jamex do superlows for x90s and x100s...

I nice and cheap touch to the interior is to change the bulbs from dull green to red or white... Not doable in newer cars like mine unless someone's keen to solder LED to the stereo, and other buttons...

Yeah. As you can see in the last picture the 40-45mm drop didn't do much. But with the right wheels it should look okay I hope. I need a bit of height to tow though.
She handles soooo much better now so the purchase was worth it in my eyes.
Has anyone actually tried to put a mark ii front on a chaser? I'm contemplating buying a whole car....

Would have thought it would be pretty much bolt on, can do the same with 81s and i think 100s so cant see why it wouldnt work.
