Slow going GX51 Cresta

Post by Jzx51 »

Bit of a slow work in progress but here she is

Its a 1981 Gx51 Cresta

It wasnt in the best shape when I picked it up but its getting there. I'll keep it concise and list a few of the things done so far and whats left to do.

So far

-Rust removed and a full respray in the factory 2 tone colours
-BC gold adjustables all round
-Bride reclineable seat in drivers side (going to try get it upholstered to match interior)
-SSR mesh wheels 15x8 and 15x9
-purchased 1jzgte an r154

Still to do

-Thinking about changing the colour and there is a couple new patches of rust to see to, I kind of expected this to happen.
-Need to paint the wheel centres matching colour
-Have to change motor to front sump which I now have, also waiting on waterpump etc to freshen up all those bits. And then obviously put it in the car, I still need to get an ecu for the motor itsout of JZA70 so if anyone knows of anything let me know.
-Im planning on having a play at some amateur drift days so will need a decent LSD.

There will be heaps of little things to sort with getting motor up an running but I'll get there.

And now the most important part......some pics

Motor and box will be coming out in the next couple weeks so more updates to come hopefully

Images are working now, must have been a glitch somewhere along the line. Awesome wheels btw.

Cheers mate

The motor is in the hole....now the growing list of things to be done starts to evolve

Needs mods to the oil return after changing sump...prety minor
needs power steering pump hooked up
All plumbing of intercooler an radiator
gearbox and clutch and driveshaft
wiring etc etc etc

you get the idea but Im currently searching for a new house after selling our current one so this is sitting idle for a wee while
