Name: Adrian
Where your from: chch
What you do: truck maintainence
Car you own: jzx81, st185
Mods and future plans: manual conversion, twinturbo swap, wheels, slam
Next car you want to buy: jzx110 if I ever sell the chaser
Why you joined JZX NZ:

So this is my first jz powered vehicle. I was looking for something that would attract less police attention than the filthy ke70 I was driving. My worst run in that thing I got pulled up 4 times in 3 days. Not ideal. Came across the chaser on tardme and 2 days later it was mine. Score! Always liked the x8 shape but never expected to own one. 1jz power sealed the deal 8-)

Plans- first things first I have near all parts for manual conversion just after a jz to w bellhousing and handbrake surround centre console bit- give me a shout if anyone has either for sale done but still no handbrake surround
-s13 adjustables chilling in the shed waiting to be fitted lol no
-fit mark 2 grande front end that I pillaged from pick a part done but not by choice
-some sort of wheels of course done
and more to come when I get all that sorted

cheers for looking

For the bellhousing, your cheapest option is through Nick at Toyota North Shore. They are about $450

First post updated with a semi proper intro
So this is the current state of the car
Image

Things have been happening in the past couple of months
-jza70 1jzgte purchased
-supra r154 purchased as my steel centre w58 is failing
-lots of small parts that are rapidly draining my bank account
-soarer 1jzgte purchased for parts

plan is 2jz 440cc injectors, safc2, wideband and see what it can do. Im hoping for 350hp at wheels

Image

been doing all the small things while its out of the car. new cambelt, new seals on all protruding shafts, non hypdropump swap, general clean up and paint the block

luckily my 1jz came fitted with a hks t3g bolt on twinturbo kit. no ceramic bullshit to deal with!

Image

some pics of the hks manifolds. they tiny! I wasnt really keen to take off the turbos but one of the flange gaskets was blown out so it had to be done

Image
Image

and a random pic from work. engine was rooted so we converted it to steam

cheers for looking

Will give you some piece of mind when the boost goes up

the steam truck had a leak in the egr cooler, coolant was pouring straight into the intake of the turbo.
luckily it wasn't enough to hydraulic the engine, just looked hilarious. there was water literally spraying out the exhaust along with all the steam

yea stoked with the turbos, I'm keen to see what they can do.
I've done a bit of esearch on them and found mixed reviews.

Ripped my engine loom apart in the weekend, removed all unused wires and plugs.

the tangle of wires near the ecu plugs are to be shortened. hopefully I know what I'm doing :?
