Fuck i fully thought it wud be as easy aswell. I mean my 1jz was a "bolt in" and it still needed endless things changed. From memory i had to get like new power steering lines and new radiator hoses and all this stupid little stuff. Why do you think there are so many half finished projects on trademe. But dont get me wrong its pretty worth it once you have it done.

Also...Open diffs make me want to shoot myself. My grande wont even whip in the dry cause of the stupid diff (come to think of it, it may be cause im driving a 1j powered monster truck from the 80's).

Hahaha, my 2J with a torsen won't whip in the dry either... maybe cause of the chunky 235/40/18 Y-Rated (300kph) rear tyres. I knew I should've bought Ling Longs  In the wet is a different story though!

JZs seem to have a bit of a reputation for having more grip then slip unless you really try. Hell, i can drive my 2jzgte with 205/50/15s pretty hard around corners without it skidding up

For some reason I was thinking bout your car last night at work Thomas. I hope you're not underestimating the amount of shit that goes into an engine swap! :P

From what you were telling me on fb you've basically got a long block, and still looking for a head? You've got nothing else?

Just some ramblings off the top of my head.....

Are you sticking with the auto? As far as I know your current trans won't bolt up to a JZ. You'll also soon realise how badly open diffs suck..

You're gonna need a JZX90 turbo wiring loom and ECU.

Engine mounts

Intake manifold, throttle body and related parts/hoses etc etc if your motor doesn't come with them.

Front of exhaust will have to be modified to mate up to the dump pipe(s), may as well do a full exhaust as the 1G one will be fairly restrictive.

You need a front sump (from an Aristo, Supra sump won't fit)

You'll be wanting an intercooler and piping. Stock JZX90 stuff would be ideal, but hard to find. When I put an 4G63T into my Mirage I bought a massive box of random 1.75" - 2.5" pipes and a $30 VR-4 intercooler off trademe and built a shitty little setup until I could afford to do it properly.

Then there's all the little shit (usually the worst bit of any engine swap)... injectors, fuel pump (I doubt the 1G one will be up to the task, though I might be wrong), ignitor, resistor pack throttle cable, starter motor(?), random sensors and shit... trust me there will be things which you will overlook.

There's probably more too. Just make sure you know what you're getting into before you rip the motor out and then stand there going "oh shit" :)
haha it comes witht the whole engine conversion needed for transplant:) the guy converting the car knows what he's gonna go through - it'll be free just gonna take time - probably 2 weeks for him to do it.. he's done it b4 :)

haha nah too broke to buy just even a part :) a friend of mine said he didn't like his engine anymore - so he decided to give it to me , picking it up in 2 weeks... and nigel - will get his complete turbo set changed and giving me his old one.. but yea..

2jz will come with manifold, ignition coil basically everything - pretty much like a turn key that needs slight mods :D
