01 and 02 refer to the ratio, B on the end is open, D is torsen.
The A and B suffix worked for Supras and Soarers as meaning open and torsen, but they changed the reference system on JZX.

Yes but mine was auto...davealdworth wrote:pretty sure all manual JZX110 came out with the torsen fitted like you said autos came out as an option only.
I agree. Hence, B02B is open which leads to a conclusion that my diff was replaced sometime in the past. It's definitely torsen judging from the way it behaves.archon wrote:01 and 02 refer to the ratio, B on the end is open, D is torsen.

My Soarer sometimes gets both spinning and it has an open diff. I agree, try some donuts and report back (with vids)

Crap! I knew this was coming...PSIBRG wrote:My Soarer sometimes gets both spinning and it has an open diff. I agree, try some donuts and report back (with vids)

Yeah I was thinking of the same thing... the burnout done on that pick was a good 10-sec stationary one so if you look closely at the inital marks, there's quite a bit of powderized Falken FK452 on both sides... The problem with torsen diffs is when one wheel gets an airtime or too much torque, it'll act like an open diff (correct me if I'm wrong)... Also notice the marks curved slightly when the vehicle started moving (still stepping on the brakes)? what does this tell you?

any suggestions on a venue where I can safely do donuts???

Otherwise, I'll just open the diff and take a peak...

I'd probably recommend Hampton skidpad if you wanna keep it legalmurdoko wrote:any suggestions on a venue where I can safely do donuts???![]()

Just so we're clear, BRAKES were ON in the process. One would think that if it's open, the brakes will force the diff to do a one wheeler, yes?

Re: XQUSIS: Tristan's Mark II JZX110 IR-V
Nah, In my S14 when I had an open diff, it used to two wheel all the time doing stand stills, but drifting as such sucked.

So you mean with brakes on? I should really stop asking questions and just do donuts or open the casing...JZ14 wrote:Nah, In my S14 when I had an open diff, it used to two wheel all the time doing stand stills, but drifting as such sucked.
