You still keen on Adam's BN kit?
I'm after a factory lip kit so perhaps we can do some sort of 3 way deal?

Re: Tofu - Phil's JZX100 Tourer-V
Was there bumper cutting action required to fit the intercooler? And what kit did you get?
Re: Tofu - Phil's JZX100 Tourer-V
Yeah, about 3 hours of umm'ing and arr'ing, trimming here and there and had to chop up the bumper iron. Thank god I didn't have to chop any of the fins off as the OEM bumper look is so much nicer. The only trimming needed was on the inside of the lip and a bit on the egde of the fins. The kit was sourced through Dodsons and is a Greddy Replica. I actually bought it for the piping only as they are a pain to find and I was going to get a GTR cooler instead however if it does pull a better gain over the stock setup I may keep it. - The original dyno reading at ST Hitec was 198kw so i'm hoping for 205ish with the new cooler setup.Jake wrote:Was there bumper cutting action required to fit the intercooler? Pro's
- A whole heap more torque when in powerband!
- Noticeable gain when driving at speed - especially on a cold night!
- Blow off valve sounds different on soft throttle (flutters more)
- No need to cut the chassis to make it fit (which alot of FMIC's for JZX100's require)
- Looks Agressive!
Cons
- A miniscule bit more sluggish off the line
- Have to cut off a substancial amount of the bumper iron to make it fit
The gains overcome the cons, if you drive a JZX100 or any turbo vehicle for that matter, upgrading the intercooler is a must if the factory one is the size of a lunchbox.
Next Power Mods: Highflow Turbo, PFC, 3" Elbow, Pump, 550's & Tune.. (250kw~)
I'll keep you updated on my revisit to the dyno.

Re: Tofu - Phil's JZX100 Tourer-V
Hey man cheers great info. I can handle introducing the bumper iron to mr anglegrinder, but i like the oem look too and id be sad to butcher the plastic!
Why the gtr cooler? better flow than what you have? Ive been looking at the HDI kits that you can get on trademe from aus, they look not too bad and had a mate vouch for them.

Re: Tofu - Phil's JZX100 Tourer-V
The GTR one should have a better flow than the current one but we'll see.
The HDI kits are quite nice however after trying to get ahold of the seller on trademe for more information about them I ended up just getting one local.
