The diff you're looking at on Trademe from Mike will go in no problems. Only the half shafts that go into the diff housing are different on torsen vs open diffs. IR-V has the 8 inch diff, which from memory is the G series.
But he is asking a $hit tonne of money for it. Suggest you contact Hayatonka/Stacked Inc./whatever it's called now - or their agent (Moonlight Racing?) - and price one from yahoo auctions.

yeh, i know its pretty high on the price side... but even getting one from ewan will take pharken ages, and still cost a fair bit..
diff code B01B, so should fit fine.

Getting one from Ewan. The price difference is not worth the wait! Should've just bought an aftermarket one haha

ahh crap, too late.
i've had very good success with lockright lockers, i got mine from outback 4x4 for 200 second hand. very streetable and pretty quiet.
if yours is 8" or b series open diff, then get the lockright 1620.
replaces the 4 pinions with wide toothed, beveled locker cups, and when turning, these cups skip across the 4 pinion splines, making a clicking noise. (like cv's clicking)
can barely hear it in the cabin with closed windows, but acts like a more aggressive 2-way (comparing to a nismo equipped rps3 silvia.)
i swapped with a torsen b01b out of a is300 lexus... no like; had to be very aggressive behind the wheel to get sideways and the abuse i gave it, eventually killed the lsd.

oh no... a lock right would be shit, i had 4wd's with them and that was bad enough, let alone something with power... the mrs still needs to be able to drive the car safely. and as for being agressive thats not a bad thing.. im used to skidding my 86' and with next to no power in that you have no choice but to be aggresive
