Dunlop SP Sport Maxx - 225/40/18 *Pair* - SOLD

Post by Tofu »

As per the thread title, I have a pair of 225/40/18 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres (Directional) which are surplus to my requirements.

They are in Good Warrantable Condition (3.5mm). The only reason why I am selling up is because the alloys I have are too wide for these tyres and I am upgrading to 255's instead.

These tyres are great allround tyres and from my experience handle far better than equivalent Goodyear Eagle F1, Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and Toyo T1R Tyres.

Note: Picture are not the actual tyres but are of the same tread pattern and are ever so slightly more worn.

========================
The SP Sport Maxx is Dunlop's Max Performance tire developed for high-powered sports cars, sporty coupes and luxury performance sedans. Designed to be exhilarating in dry and reassuring in the wet.

SP Sport Maxx tires feature Dunlop's optimized blend of silica and high-structured carbon black tread compound molded into a directional tread design that features large, independent shoulder blocks, Hydro-Paddle intermediate ribs and a stable continuous center rib. These features work together to keep more of the tire on more of the road more of the time, improving water drainage and maintaining constant road contact to impart more responsive handling, wet driving control and high-speed stability.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Dunlop’s Jointless Band (JLB) spirally wrapped nylon to provide high-speed durability while minimizing weight. The tires feature a multi-radius profile with a rayon cord casing for high-speed capability and ride quality.

nah, need more grip and guard fill on my 9's :)
245's would probably be ideal as 255 might need a little more flare on a 15p

Im running 245/40 on same wheels but the +30 or +35 offset whichever they are not that i trust whats written on them.
have about 4mm clearance on drivers side and about 10mm clearance on passengers. either uneven camber or guard lipping.

my guards are lipped well but not pulled/flared that i am aware of.
245/40 gives good grip in comparison to 225/40 that i used to have on rear on previous rims even with more grunt.

cheers for the heads up logan, i've tried a 255 on the rear with my rims and its a little too close to the guard, it sits up against the lip so you can't drive on them. 10mm less width should get it in there tight without rub :)

The fronts will be on 225's as they're already quite close on 215's
