Forum Changes Discussion

Post by admin »

Hi Everyone,

As these forums are brand new there are bound to be some changes that are going to need to be made. At this point in time I am clueless to what needs to be changed as we haven't used the forums much yet but I'm sure as time goes on, things that need to be changed will be noticed. Please let us know any suggestions that you may have here.

Application process would be good, so that it stops potential thieves / lurkers etc.

quick reply box in some areas
"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,
Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

So far these are pretty easy changes, we'll build a list over the next couple of weeks before I make changes though.

What sort of application process do you mean? We could have the members cars thread more private, such as only to people who have registered on the forums.

you have to fill out an application form with details about yourself (kinda like new member's section) but then there is a poll and the rest of the members that are already there can vote if they want you in or not. basically you need a vouch by someone inside so that they can say you are all good and not some hoodrat thug scum. it sounds elitist but it keeps the community very close knit.

maybe a section with model information for newbies (and me) about the good points and potential problems of some of the jzx models such as the dreaded twin turbo problems on some cars.... just a thought

that would be covered in the tech section once the forum gets up and running etc

a dedicated moderator group would be nice
curb |kərb| kerb
noun
1 a stone or concrete edging to a street or path.
2 a check or restraint on something
3 a concrete construction used to help rotate your car
4 a tempting shortcut

When you click on a link it would be nice if it opened a new tab rather than navigating away from the forum
