Tom's Advox Suspension

Post by gadget »

Hey Guys,

This Aristo I've brought in has a leaky shock, so they won't comply it. Turns out it's got Tom's Advox suspension. Anyone know anyone that does Tom's here in NZ?

If not, recommendations on a replacement (brand and place to buy)?

Would I need to replace all four, or could I get away with just replacing the front two with a diff brand?

Cheers,
Ben.

Well done on the Aristo, always been a pretty big fan but never managed to own one - yet. :D

I think that guy at 41.co.nz can supply Tom's stuff, but ex Japan so might be a wait.

Might want to clarify before you buy something but isn't suspension for JZX110, SXE10 and JZS161 all interchangeable? If so I would look for a cheap set from an Altezza or something off the tard to get through compliance (Murdoko might still have a set available).

I'd just replace it with something you can get locally ie: BC's as they're pretty good and quite affordable.

Thanks for the responses guys. Autolign suspect they may be able to remove and re-assemble replacing a couple of seals - if they have the right sizes. This will be the first option.

Am getting prices on D2 and BC Gold coilovers as a replacement - was hoping to replace only one end but it appears that they're all only available as sets of 4.

Cheers,
Ben.

Going cheap... I don't want to but can't justify the cost of Tein and can't stomach putting factory shocks back in. Really hoping Autolign can come to the party and repair the existing one.

Any thoughs on KTS? Supposedly they make the HKS-branded ones...

Have not heard anything, I would go for Bc.. and maybe specify stiffer springs when you buy em,
the standard ones tend to be abit soft for most people.
