brazing copper to mild steel

wanting to know what my chances are with brazing a copper fitting on to the end of my factory mild steel turbo oil returns so i can step down slighty to fit 3/4 LOLA oil/flame retardent hose on to

you will need to use a filler rod with a lower melting temp than the copper, from memory brass melts hotter than copper. think you can use silflo rod. personally, try find a steel fitting and tig it on, as its all very well having a flame proof hose, only to have a dodgy braised fitting pack it in. catch my drift.... not worth risking it aye.

yeah ^ plus i would avoid copper due to its heat conduction properties.
those steel oil returns are great btw... much better than using flameproof hose.
im sure you would be able to get a steel fitting that you could step down with.

yeh iv got plenty of rod, im a fridgee. might see if i can find someone to do some tig work for some beers

oh i have to use the hose as the factory oil return fouls on the engine mounts

you could just make new returns, pretty sure you can buy that steel tubing, and bend it to shape
cut it to size.

any hydraulic shop will stock the metal pipe
