no, not the seat. The throat is the bit that surrounds the valve stem. If you looked into the exhaust port, it would be near the top of the port. If 250 kw will do you, then perhaps don't bother doing the throats. Any of the porting guys can do the throats, if you are keen to have a go, get them to do one or two for you, to show you, then copy.
BTW As a note , not every guy who can port heads is suitable to port your head. For example, an old school v8 guy is unlikely to get a good result for you with a head port. Need to find someone who is well versed in japanese multi valve heads, AND forced induction. Also bear in mind, most good porters have a back log of work, so unless you are prepared to wait, I wouldn't bother .

Oh ok, I probably wont bother then. Will just rebuild it to OEM specs. I have also decided to rebuild the whole motor over the next few months since it will be easier to remove the head once its out of the car. Hoping with a simple turbo/injector/fuel pump upgrade it will net the extra 50rwkw.

The cause of the knocking sound has been found.

Conrod shells on numbers 2,3,5,6 are fucked. I have included a photo of Number 6 which is the worst. The rebuild continues!

Yeah definitely, hoping to have the rebuild done in the next month or two as driving slow cars sucks!

it's actually great to drive a normal car for a while, and when you get behind the wheel of a 1jzgte, you experience the WOW factor all over again. Addictive acceleration, mountains of torque etc etc.

Guess you have a point there. JZX gave up daily driving duties a couple years ago when I got another car/work vehicle so its definitely an experience jumping in it again on weekends.
