JZX NZ

Hello to the jzx community.
If i was floating the idea of putting a manual gearbox in, what version of R154 fits? is there just two versions, standard, and remote shift?
The car is a LX80 (sedan), with a jzx81 crossmember in it, to fit the 2jzgte. The rear diff and axles were tiny,so have fitted a hiace rear axle with tightened hilux LSD.

man this forum seems pretty dead recently, has Facebook sucked the life out of it, like most other forums???

This topic might help you a bit, however since JZX81 never came with MT from factory, im fairly sure you are looking for a non remote shift R154 from a JZA70 supra. You also need to mod the transmission tunnel as its only made to fit the W series boxes.

hey thanks for the reply. I didn't know that the jzx81 never came with a manual trans option.( But i thought that they would be fairly rare , like a manual soarer.)

I thought jzx81 was offered factory manual option with 1JZGTE + R154, but the 1JZGE was auto only.

Like m989 says same shifter position as JZA70.
