Just been quoted $1000 to certify my car with coilovers, aftermarket seat and rail, exhaust and alloy wheels.

Whats the going rate in other parts of the country and how long does it usually take?

They can charge what ever they want but it should be around $450-500 to cert everything.

As an example the most recent cert I went through last Dec (in Wellington) was for a Nissan Safari:
- raised suspension
- adjustable panhard rods
- lowered radius arm mounts
- 33" tyres
- Wheels
- wide flares
- turbo conversion
- front and rear steel tube bumpers
- Aftermarket seats

That was $450.

Before that I certified a car with turbo swap (from supercharger), adjustable suspension and it was around $400 that was 6 or 7 years ago.

I paid around $700~ for my LVV cert - including exhaust.
Got it done through Clint Field (0274522049)

It takes a few hours for him to go through everything and it needs performed at a workshop with a hoist.
When the plate is made (usually 2-3 weeks) he will organise a time to see the car and install the plate.

Thanks for the replies, Have been quoted by someone else around the $700 price bracket which is a lot more sane than $1000 for the same amount of work.

Do you get given a temporary cert while the plate is being made or do you just have to stay under the radar?
