Importing a JZX100

Post by daemon0814 »

Hi, Sam here, new to the forums. I was just looking for some advice about importing a JZX100 Chaser Tourer V. You guys probably get this question a lot but I thought I'd ask anyways (had a search on the forums didn't come up with anything, or maybe i didn't search hard enough o_O).

Currently I am in a position where I can import a Tourer V in manual with heaps of extras bits and bobs for less than $9k NZD imported with the customs tax. But I was wondering if it was possible of there was any way to register the vehicle as it is a 1997 car and am unsure if it meets the SIV requirements. If not I was considering to swapping the heart over to a chassis here.

Looking forward to a reply. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. :)

to legally comply it you would need to wait until it is 20 years old (2017) to comply it.

I have a 97 tourer v sitting at my parents house in auckland which is going to have its running gear swapped into my mark ii cause I can't wait. but if you can wait you can have a genuine tourer v i guess or import a jzx90 tourer v like everyone else is doing at the moment.

If you want to import it as a parts car for yourself, then I would suggest you buy a slightly damaged one as it will be cheaper, unless you want to swap the body parts over as well. In regards to complying it, gtivvl is correct.

Its real simple, get a JZX100 turbo motor n drop it in, all bolt in no mods needed.
