Post by freshez »

Anyone here done a diff swap in their JZX110. From an open to a torsen?

Just need to know if you can just straight swap them without needing any new parts.

You will need the whole torsen diff, including the casing, not just the centre. I did it on my JZX110 with the whole casing and it was a perfect fit. Hope that helps :).

Plus, is yours an IR-V? I'm assuming it is.

I have the whole diff incl. casing. Just what I wanted to hear :) I'm sure I read somewhere that you needed new "axles" or "side gears" when swapping the open for a torsen as one diff was thinner than the other.

and yes, it's an IR-V :)

Nope you don't need anything apart from the whole diff. That could have been me referring to a hilux diff centre that I bought to fit into my 110. Didn't fit cause it was slightly narrower.

Is this Tristran's old 110? If so, I thought he had already fitted a torsen that he imported from Japan through Ewan @ stacked

Yes its a straight swap. yes, that WAS my 110... no I haven't fitted it as it didn't arrive until the week it was sold.
